Educational Adjustments Funding Model

Parents and families are invited to attend an information and discussion forum during Term 2 to discuss the Department of Education’s new Educational Adjustments Funding Model. From 2020, there will be a new approach in schools to assist students with disability to access, participate and engage in quality educational programs.

Visit the link below for more information, and to register to attend the forum in your area:

Metro - Temporary bus stop closure 239AM

Stop 14 located outside the Lansdowne Crescent Café at the intersection of Lansdowne Crescent and Allison Street, West Hobart, will be closed from Monday 20 until Friday 24 May 2019 inclusive.

During this time, students who would regularly use stop 14 will instead need to use alternative stops nearby:
 Stop 12 Lansdowne Crescent, West Hobart before Warwick Street
 Stop 13 Lansdowne Crescent, West Hobart before Hill Street

Metro will publish this information online on their website (metrotas.com.au) and Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Metro appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure.

Maths Pathways - Grade 8

There will be a parent information evening for grade 8 parents on Tuesday 14 May in the THS library, from 4pm - 5pm.
Feel free to come along either by yourself or with your child.
There will be an information session, question and answer time and then a chance to log on and view your child's progress.

NAPLAN Grade 7 & 9 Students

NAPLAN testing for Grade 7 and 9 students is scheduled to take place from May 14-24. This year, all tests will be completed online, allowing for student results and data to be available in a shorter timeframe than in previous years. This learning data allows us to gain an important insight into student learning and it is important for students to do their best so their results are an accurate representation of where they are at. This will allow us to use this data to respond to student need.

Additionally, most tests involve an element of listening. Due to this, students will be required to bring a set of headphones with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack to use during the tests. Please discuss this with your child before the test period begins, so they are appropriately prepared. If you have any questions, please contact James Trainer or Julian Muskett to discuss.
