Lockers

Lockers are allocated to students in Grades 7 and 8. Grades 9 and 10 students are able to apply on the Locker Application Form included in the information package – limited numbers of lockers are available and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Students will need to supply their own locks; combination locks are recommended.

Athletics Carnival

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL THURSDAY 18 & FRIDAY 19 FEBRUARY

There will be no school canteen available on these days.

There will be canteen facilities available at the Domain.

Parents please note:

STUDENTS LEAVING CARNIVAL EARLY:

Students will not be dismissed from the Domain Athletics Centre during the day without a wrist band unless a parent comes to the announcing box and signs the student out in person.

A phone call from a parent will not suffice as permission to leave from the carnival.

Students will be dismissed directly from the carnival at 2:15pm

THS Production – The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid will be presented on 2, 3 and 4 December 2020 at 7.00pm. Currently, COVID-19 restrictions allow us to proceed with a limited audience.

Entry on the night requires a completed Visitor Health Screening form for each ticket holder. Forms are available on our website for your completion. https://taroonahigh.education.tas.edu.au/documents

Hard copies of the form will also be available to complete on the night prior to entry, please allow extra time as the show starts at 7pm sharp. Please note that seating and forms do also apply for children who are in attendance.

Tickets are now available through the Qkr! app. All tickets are $15, and we have space for 250 people per evening. Everyone will be seated on chairs and socially distanced. Seats cannot be moved.

We previously advertised that students could buy $10 tickets and sit on the floor but as it takes place in the evening, we are not able to count students differently to adults.

With such limited capacity, we kindly request that people only book for one show, allowing everyone a fair chance to see it.

Tasmanian Beach Volleyball Schools Cup Competition

Where: Kingston Beach

When: Years 7 and 8 - Thursday 26 November

Years 9 and 10 - Friday 27 November

Cost: $30 per team - payment to be made through Qkr! app

Competition begins at 9.30am - students will need to arrive shortly prior to this time.

Competition will end around 2.00pm.

Students are required to find their own way to and home from Kingston Beach.

SRC Quiz Night

Our SRC are excited to be holding an Olympic-themed quiz night for the Taroona and surrounding community, to fundraise for the new school canteen, and bring the community together after a difficult year. Featuring Peter G as the quizmaster, the night will be packed with questions and fun games and will also include a raffle and silent auction. Raffle and auction items will be released soon, so watch this space!

Date: Thursday 19th November

Time: 7pm-9:30pm

Cost: $150 per team of 8-10

A designated 'team leader' will need to book and pay for the entire table. Bookings can be made through the Qkr! app - see attached photos for booking instructions. Further information will then be emailed to the team leader once they have booked.

The event will comply with all relevant COVID precautions, and tables will be distanced apart. Due to COVID we are unable to provide food, but are happy for teams to bring their own snacks on the night for individual consumption. Food can only be shared with other team members if it is individually wrapped (i.e. a Favourites box of chocolates). Drinks will be available to purchase on the night under licensed stallholders.

Taroona High School End of Year Prizes

This year some changes have been made to how students are nominated for a range of school prizes, that are presented at the THS Presentation Evening on Tuesday 15 December. In previous year’s all nominations have been made by teaching staff. This year, we are opening nominations for some non-academic awards up to students, parents and community members.
